RULES AND ELIGIBILITY
Student papers are eligible for both the Technical Program Awards as well as the Student Research Competition Awards.
The DASC Student Research Competition awards are based on two rounds:
- Paper review to select finalists (includes scores from the Technical Program Award reviews)
- Interactive session (with Q&A) to enhance the visibility of the finalist papers and students, and to select the top winners (also based on the quality of the presentation)
It is possible to register a paper in the student research competition during the abstract submission process. In order for a paper to be eligible for the student awards:
- Final paper must be submitted no later than 2 July 2023.
- At least one student author must be registered for the conference. Student status is subject to verification.
- It is required that the first author is a full time graduate or undergraduate student, or at least was a full time student when most of the research work was done.
- A full time undergraduate student is defined as an student enrolled in at least 12 undergraduate credit hours each semester.
- A full time graduate student is defined as a student enrolled in at least 9 graduate credit hours each semester.
- In case of doubts about eligibility, authors may contact the Chair of the Student Competition.
- The student paper must be presented in a technical session, and can be presented by any of the paper authors. This is a requirement for paper publication.
- Student papers that are selected as a finalist in the student competition, must be presented by a full time student author in the student interactive session (round 2 of the student competition). This may be the first author, or another co-author who is a full time student.
STUDENT AWARD PRIZES
The top three winners will be awarded with certificates and cash awards.
